Welcome to the SARP Center

We have provided this safe space for all those who may be interested in our agency.  Whether you are a survivor of sexual assault, know someone who has been a victim of sexual violence, or are interested in learning more about sexual assault and the ways you can make a difference, the SARP Center has resources for you.

The Sexual Assault Recovery and Prevention Center of San Luis Obispo County is a non profit 501(c)3 organization, established in 1976.  For the past 30 years we have provided a safe and caring atmosphere in which survivors of sexual assault can begin to heal.  The SARP Center Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day to offer confidential support to survivors and their significant others.

Through our crisis services and prevention education departments, we work to make San Luis Obispo County a safer place for all its residents, raising awareness and fighting to end sexual violence.

The SARP Center offers the following services:

First Annual Donor Drive

The SARP Center would like to thank all our compassionate community supporters who contributed to our agency for the first annual donor drive. Thank you so much for joining us in the effort to end sexual violence. Due to the increasing needs in our community for our services, the SARP Center conducted its first financial support campaign, mailing out letters to past and present supporters, and then following  up with a personal phone call.

Thus, the SARP Center conducted its first financial support campaign, on October 22nd and 23rd, contacting our past and present supporters such as yourself, with a personal phone call asking for financial support. So far we have raised $6,420 of our $10,000 goal. These funds will contribute to our crisis intervention, advocacy, accompaniment, peer counseling, individual and group therapy, prevention and education programs, self-defense classes, and community awareness presentations. Beyond raising money for the agency, this particular event allowed our agency to renew our relationship with our supporters in the community. We were also able to update our database as well as strengthen our relationships with our supporters like you.

We would like to thank Jill LeMieux and the Tribune staff for allowing us to use the office to make those phone calls.  We also would like to thank Janna Nichols who provided free consultation services for the Donor Drive. Thank you for donating us your time and guiding us through this event. And thank you to each and every Board member for making those calls. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the agency is clearly evident even over the phone.

Our first annual Donor Drive has been a success, thanks to supporters such as you. This gift means so much to so many – women, children and men who have been affected by sexual violence. I join with all of them and the staff here at SARP Center in wishing you a prosperous and safe New Year.

If you are interested in contributing to our first annual donor drive, please use the link below. No gift is too small. Your support will help us achieve our goal.
