Women's Empowerment & Self-Defense Workshops

Women's Empowerment and Self-Defense workshops are about more than just punching and kicking. Participants are taught how to use their voices, minds, and bodies to protect themselves effectively. Workshops confront the real life fears that all women face. Participants are given options, choices, and techniques for dealing with those fears in a safe and supportive environment. Workshops focus on developing and practicing awareness skills, assertiveness skills, physical self-defense techniques, and empowerment. Empowering ourselves as women is a process. Taking this workshop is one of the first steps.

We believe that a woman's best weapon is herself:
her voice, her mind, & her body!

Self Defense Trainings

The self-defense trainings provide the community with a quality training of assertiveness, awareness & self-defense. Our team - Cameron Lutchansky, Sensei Daniel Cavaliere, & Krista Stafford - has developed a comprehensive & involved lesson.

The physical training of the workshop is led by a local martial arts teacher. Sensei Daniel works with the United States Academy of Martial Arts in San Luis Obispo & has been gracious enough to agree to lead our self-defense sessions. Sensei Daniel has a great interest in the betterment of the SLO community & reducing the risk of sexual assault. No matter what age or fitness level, the trainers will encourage & guide participants to use their minds & bodies to protect themselves in a supportive & safe environment. Follow-up trainings will also be offered by Sensei Daniel through the USAMA to continue learning & perfecting self-defense moves.
